Operational Analysis - Foodservice

Project Scope:

The Optimum Group was contracted to evaluate the foodservices in the widely spread out facilities at the national headquarters of Genentech Inc, a significant biomedical contributor to medical science. The audit incorporated an evaluation of the quality of food products and services offered as well as an analysis of the most efficient transportation and logistics possible to provide the large selection of offerings.

Audit of Existing Services This included the observations and recommendations that were placed into a report that was used to determine if improvement in the foodservices was required. The two principals of TOG invested two days in auditing the specific services, with an emphasis on the multitude of catering orders experienced by the foodservice contractor.

Logistics and Centralization Study The large number of buildings on a campus that was spread out and mostly vertical, required a study to determine if it were possible to consolidate the production of catering and other services. We made recommendations as to how this could be performed.
